Ballet Steps Level: Jazz Four
All dancers enrolled in Jazz 4 should be taking a minimum of (1) ballet class / week. More complicated petite allégro All previous steps listed in prior jazz syllabi Continued work for leg extension Ponche’ into needle stretch Developpe’ en croix Developpe’ into front and side leg holds Continued
Jazz Warm-Up/Conditioning More intense and faster combinations of previous steps Start adding choreography into basic stretch Elevated splits (make sure back of knee is supported) Effort to make the warm-up more fluid to get heart rate up and encourage better body awareness Drills in conditioning and flexibility exercises that cross train different muscle groups
